Pork and Veggie Stir Fry - How to Velvet Meat

Learn the technique of velveting meat to achieve tender and succulent pork in this vibrant and flavorful stir fry. Packed with colorful veggies, this dish is a delightful balance of textures and tastes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb pork tenderloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ginger, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Green onions for garnish optional
  • Sesame seeds for garnish optional

Instructions:

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, sugar, minced ginger, and minced garlic to create the marinade

Place thinly sliced pork in the marinade, ensuring its well-coated

Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes

Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat

Add marinated pork to the hot wok, stir-frying until the meat is velveted and cooked through

Remove from the wok and set aside

In the same wok, add a bit more oil if needed

Stir-fry broccoli, bell pepper, and julienned carrots until vegetables are tender-crisp

Add the cooked pork back to the wok, tossing everything together until well combined and heated through

Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired

Serve hot over rice or noodles, and enjoy your delicious Pork and Veggie Stir Fry
