Salmon Burgers

Newcastle upon Tyne Cheaters

These salmon burgers taste great and are better for you than regular beef burgers. These are great for a meal that tastes like the coast because they are made with fresh salmon and a mix of herbs and spices.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skinless and boneless, cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced red onion
  • Mayonnaise or tartar sauce for topping

Instructions:

Run the salmon pieces through a food processor a few times to make them chunky but not smooth

Chop the salmon and put it in a large bowl

Add the breadcrumbs, red onion, parsley, egg, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper

Split the mixture in half and shape each half into a burger patty

Warm up a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat

To keep them from sticking, oil the grates

They should be cooked all the way through and have grill marks after about 4 to 5 minutes on each side

If youd rather, you can cook them in a skillet over medium-high heat

Put the burger buns on the grill and toast them for one to two minutes, until they get a little brown

Put a salmon patty on the bottom half of each bun to make the burgers

Add lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion slices on top

Then put some mayonnaise or tartar sauce on top, and then put the top half of the bun on top of that

Serve your tasty salmon burgers right away with your favorite sides
